Actor Danny Trejo fights with man who allegedly threw water balloon at him during July 4 parade in LA

Leave Machete alone!

Actor Danny Trejo punched a Fourth of July parade goer who allegedly threw a water balloon at the “Machete” star’s vintage convertible, sparking a violent brawl along the parade route in LA.

The Southern California assault occurred Thursday during the Independence Day Parade in the Sunland-Tujunga neighborhood of Los Angeles, ABC 7 Los Angeles reports.

The 80-year-old actor was pulled over along the parade route in his baby blue convertible when a water balloon was launched through the windshield, according to video footage obtained by the outlet.

Trejo, dressed in a white long-sleeved shirt and black pants, jumped out of the vintage car and punched the man suspected of throwing the water balloon.

However, the “Spy Kids” actor’s punch misses the man in the tank top and backwards hat, and Trejo is pushed to the sidewalk.

It was not immediately known who else was in Trejo’s car, but the video shows two small children being pulled from the car.

A large fight broke out between the suspect and others who jumped into the chaos.

The alleged water balloon thrower punched a second man several times, prompting others to throw themselves at him. The fight then moved to the sidewalk, where spectators could watch the parade.

In the video, Trejo can be seen getting up from the ground, grabbing a green folding chair and throwing it at the excited fighters.

Then a woman rushes to the actor and stops him before others come to help him.

During the madness you can hear people holding the parade near the actor and fighters and begging them to stop because there are children around.

The scuffle lasted about 30 seconds and was eventually broken up by bystanders.

According to TMZ, police received a report of a fight along the parade route, but the crowd had dispersed by the time officers arrived.

No one has been arrested.

Trejo told TMZ that the water balloon thrown at his Corvette was “childish” and that the people who threw the balloon at him were “cowards.”

According to the news agency, the suspects who threw the balloons were about 30 years old.

The 80-year-old actor said he was not injured in the scuffle.

The fight comes just days after the Los Angeles resident announced the death of his 16-year-old Chihuahua, Dixie.

Trejo, who has spoken openly about his past drug addiction and his time in the notoriously dangerous San Quentin State Prison, got sober in 1968 and was released from prison the following year before beginning his decades-long acting career.

Since landing his first acting role in 1985’s “Runaway Train,” Trejo has appeared in more than 400 films and television shows, according to the star’s IMDb page.
