Prime Video has decided not to renew the sci-fi/neo-western drama series Out of range, starring Josh Brolin, for a third season. The news comes nearly two months after the seven-episode second season of showrunner Charles Murray’s series debuted on May 16.
Out of range follows rancher Royal Abbott (Brolin) as he fights for his land and family after discovering an incomprehensible phenomenon on the edge of the Wyoming wilderness — a dark void. The mystery surrounding the void on the ranch’s western pasture deepens in Season 2, as Royal and his wife Cecelia (Lili Taylor) struggle to keep their family together after their granddaughter disappears.
In addition to Brolin and Taylor, the series also starred Imogen Poots, Tamara Podemski, Lewis Pullman, Tom Pelphrey, Noah Reid, Shaun Sipos, Isabel Arraiza, Olive Abercrombie and Will Patton. Christian James, Megan West, Daniel Abeles, Kimberly Guerrero and Monette Moio returned for Season 2.

Out of range was produced by Charles Murray, Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, Ernest McNealey, Brolin, Tony Krantz, Heather Rae, and Jon Paré. Brolin made his directorial debut in the penultimate episode of season 2.
